If you live in Tennessee and are interested in becoming a real estate agent, Tennessee’s real estate schools can give you the training you need to meet the state’s standards. Although some areas have cooperative agreements allowing agents to work across state lines, without a Tennessee real estate license, you will not be permitted to practice in the state.
Licensing Requirements
The Tennessee Real Estate Commission’s specifications require a minimum amount of education prior to taking the state test in real estate sales and experience. The Tennessee Real Estate Commission requires its affiliates to take 60 classroom hours of real estate principles for their pre-license requirements. Brokers will have higher requirements: 120 hours of pre-licensing hours, which includes 30 classroom hours in office and brokerage management. There are different ways you can go about meeting the education requirements, but one of the best ways is to attend one of the Tennessee real estate schools.
Online Education
Obtaining your real estate education online is also an option. Check the Internet to learn more about online choices. Although this option is not as personal as traditional classroom learning, it does offer a sound alternative for those who live in rural locations.
If you want more detailed information on attending a Tennessee real estate school visit the Tennessee Real Estate Commission’s Web site.
Once You Have Your License
Once you have your Tennessee real estate license, you will have to renew it periodically. Licenses in this state expire on the last day of the year on all even numbered years, such as 2004 or 2006. In order to renew your license, you must pay a renewal fee at the beginning of November. Sixteen hours of continuing education are also required in order to renew your license. These can also be completed at a Tennessee real estate school.
