Dining
The Norwegian Cruise Line fleet offers ships with more dining services in a wide range of ethnic foods and preparations. There are so many restaurant choices, you can eat in a different one every night! Buffets are available at times, but all other restaurants prepare meals to order. The dining services are also open much later than most cruise ships to better provide for its passengers.
Gratuities
On most cruise ships, gratuity for staff is a complicated process and simply a hassle at the end of your trip. With Freestyle Cruising of the Norwegian Cruise Line however, gratuity is simple but still under your control. A set amount of gratuity will automatically be charged for each person in your party unless you contact the front desk to otherwise increase or decrease it.
Service
Service aboard ships is superior above others largely because of the increased number of employees. Roughly one crew member per stateroom accommodates the ships to be available to you when needed but still allows you your own space. The significant number of crew members on ships also allows dining and other services to be open later.
Attire
In the past, cruises have been known for their requirement of formal wear and other restrictions. But on the Norwegian Cruise Line, the fashion of cruise ships has been expanded. Formal wear nights are no longer obligatory, but rather an option, and many times casual wear – a polo and khakis, a blouse and skirt or slacks – is perfectly acceptable. Even jeans and beachwear is adequate in some of the restaurants aboard ships before 5:30.
Activities
More activities have been added to the Cruise Line’s long list of interests, both onboard and on shore. Internet cafes allow passengers to connect on the open sea and Broadway shows light up the stages. On the ships you can hear your heart beating in an aerobics class or relax around the pool, shop in the stores, get your nails done in the salon, try your hand at the casino, or enjoy one of the many shows or movies available. Whatever floats your boat, you will be sure to find it.
Disembarkation
If you do not have an early flight after your cruise has commenced, on the Norwegian Cruise Line you are allowed to stay in your stateroom and relax until your disembarkation call. No more rushing in the morning to get off the ship only to wait around for hours. On the Cruise Line ships, you can eat breakfast and savor the last remaining moments of your cruise vacation before heading back home.
