These agencies sometimes provide significant discounts that could end up saving you hundreds of dollars. Even cruise lines offer the option to book online at their own websites. Since travel agents have to compete with online deals, they too are eager to begin slashing prices.
But which one should you choose? It depends on how much you want to save. Many people are flocking to online booking agencies because they offer such mind-blowing deals. You can find even cheaper cruises if you buy a ticket to a last minute cruise. Because the line is eager to give away the tickets, dealers may knock off a few hundred dollars.
When you order online, have your credit card information available. Sometimes, a discount or a last minute trip won’t provide a refund, so be absolutely sure that you are able to go. Be sure that the website can encrypt your credit card information. You also need to make sure that the site is secured. The best way to find that out if the site is secured is to look for the “s” at the end of “http” at the beginning of the address bar. If the site is not secured, I’d think twice about booking on that website.
Now that you’ve booked your getaway, you need to prepare for your luxury cruise dream trip.
The firs thing you should do is clear your schedule. Reschedule routine doctor appointments and any other engagements that can be scheduled for a later date. You may even want to skip the gym this once so you can focus on preparing for your luxury cruise trip. Remember, there are plenty of facilities on board that will help you stay in shape.
You should inform family and friends before you depart. After all, you don’t want everyone wondering where you’ve gone for a week. Start your calls at least a week in advance. Tell them that your schedule is clear and not to volunteer you for any duties that week.
If you plan to go with the entire family, check to see if the luxury cruise line is family friendly. Luxury cruises will reach out to the entire family, especially during the summer months when children are on vacation. There are many programs and activities available on the ship. Some cruise lines offer a baby-sitting facility on the ship as well. If you don’t plan on taking the kids, ask a trusted friend or family member to look after them. You should also consider asking someone to house-sit for you. Be sure to ask someone you can trust with your home and valuables. The house sitter should bring in mail, take phone messages, let the plumber or cable guy in, feed any pets, and simply guard the house.
Last, but not least, you should pack a variety of clothing, including swimwear, shorts, tank tops, even long pants and shirts. Any place near water can seem cool, especially at night.
