Choosing Between London Hotels

London hotels are diverse and many. Whether you want to stay in a first class establishment, or somewhere a little more homely, there is a hotel to suit everyone’s tastes.

London hotels are among some of the most prestigious in Europe. If you are traveling to the capital city of England, you would be wise to check out their selection of hotels well in advance. London hotels can book up pretty quickly, so you will need to give the hotel plenty of notice if you want to guarantee a room. Most London hotels require a small deposit, much like any other hotel in the world. Often, the easiest way of doing this is over the phone by credit card. Of course, some hotels will accept a cheque if you mail it to them in plenty of time.

There are many different places in which you can stay when you visit London, and there are many different areas where you can find accommodation. By far the most expensive option is staying in the center of London, near notoriously lavish places such as Mayfair, Park Lane, or Regent’s Park. While these areas are right in the hustle and bustle of the city, and have beautiful surroundings, the prices that you can expect to pay for your hotel room can be somewhat staggering.

You always have the option of booking a hotel in a quieter, less commercial part of the city. Although you will be away from the posh restaurants and fancy shops, you will have a much more palatable hotel bill to deal with at the end of your stay. Besides, London is a city where everything is on your doorstep. The central parts of town are a mere tube or bus ride away. Access to every part of the city is easy, cheap, and, above all, quick.

You also have the option of booking a hotel outside of the city. There are many places in Greater London that provide excellent accommodation at half the price of the city hotels. And traveling into the city is normally a half hour train journey at most. Good places to look for hotels include various towns in Middlesex and Buckinghamshire. Most of the major towns in these counties have direct train routes to all the major city train stations.

London hotels come in all shapes and sizes. Whether you choose to stay somewhere posh like the Hilton, or the Millennium Mayfair, or you go more low-key to a hotel such as the Holiday Inn or the Premier Lodge, you will find a hotel to suit your needs, tastes and budget.

Visiting London doesn’t need to be expensive. If you look around, do some research, and book your hotel in advance, you could save yourself a lot of expense in the long run. Perhaps one of the best things to do is to get a recommendation of a hotel from someone you know. That means you can rest assured of a hotel that is of a good quality, in a good area, and at a good price. However, if you can’t get a personal recommendation, don’t worry. By doing your homework before you leave, you should be able to sort out the wheat from the chaff.
