Garden furniture can liven up anyone’s yard. There are so many different styles and types that one can get pretty much whatever they wish to fit their personality and personal style.
To start, consider what the garden furniture will be used for. If the furniture is just there to look pretty but not really be used, then obviously comfort is not a big issue. On the other hand, if you plan to have lots of outdoor parties or spend a lot of time yourself using the lawn furniture, then you may want to invest in things such as cushions and more comfortable furniture that one can sit on contentedly for as long as they wish.
Other considerations come into play if one has children. If you are worried about children spilling things such as juice on the furniture than you might be interested in the finish of the furniture. For example, plastic or glass tables can be more easily wiped off and dried than some types of wood surfaces. There is also child-size garden furniture so your child can feel they have their own place just like Mom and Dad.
Garden Furniture is also not limited to tables and chairs but can include more elaborate decorative pieces:
- Umbrellas — A common addition to the tradition table and chairs is an umbrella. They provide shade for guests and are especially good if one plans to eat outside. They come in many bright colors and patterns to liven up the yard.
- Flower Planters — This can include designs and other decorative things. Planters can be easily customized to how one wishes. One can put any kind of flowers they wish in the planter, whether keeping with a color theme or just any type of flowers one enjoys.
- Waterfalls and Fountains — Waterfalls and fountains are ornate pieces that can add a more tropical or whimsical feel to one’s yard. There are large waterfalls that need a lot of room and others that are smaller and more compact. Another idea is a small fish pond with real fish in it.
- Bird Feeders and Bird Baths — Another common yard item is a bird feeder or a bird bath. These attract the birds and are good for those who like to bird watch. They are also fun for very young children who may not have ever seen some of the types of birds that may come.
- Gazebos — Gazebos are a bigger item for the outdoors, but great if you have the space. They are great for taking pictures in, just relaxing under, or just for decoration.
- Hammocks — Hammocks are often a favorite among many and come in different types. They can be as simple as one just tied between two trees to a free-standing hammock complete with an awning over it to keep the sun out. They are great for relaxing in the sun or taking a nap.
- Lamps and Torches — If planning on entertaining at night or relaxing out of doors at nighttime yourself, you may want to look into some fun torches and lamps. They are good decorations for picnics (the torches are an especially nice touch for Hawaiian luau parties).
