Deciding that you want to get involved in real estate is a good start, but there is much more to it. When you are looking into the world of real estate, you should try to find realtor courses that can either help you prepare to take the real estate exam or that can improve your knowledge of real estate.
Courses are not limited to people who are trying to get their real estate license. You will find realtor courses about commercial brokerage, real estate appraising, urban planning, several other career opportunities and a little bit of shameless self promotion. While these courses may not be cheap, they are the best way to learn more about real estate from professionals that know the business. Even professional real estate agents take these courses to renew their real estate license and keep up on the finer points of real estate.
If you plan to take the time to find realtor courses, take a look at the realtor’s code of ethics. It may help you find a deeper appreciation for the profession. It is great to see an organization with such a socially responsible tone. This document, written nearly a century ago, breathes life into the profession. It is about more than turning a dollar. The realtor’s code of ethics charges Realtors® with a responsibility for the development of towns and cities. They have a responsibility to society at large, not just themselves or their customers.
