Casino card games are exciting to play. Three of the most popular and prestigious games that are played in the casino are blackjack, poker, and baccarat. These games require a sufficient amount of understanding so that they can be properly played. Once you learn though, you will be able to develop and craft your skill so that you can challenge the big league players.

Black Jack

In the game of black jack, your strategy is to attain a hand with points that total nearer to 21 in comparison to your opponent(s). The game begins when each player places their wager. Your bet is placed in the designated space in front of your casino table position. Once this is finished, the dealer deals two cards to each of the players. If the dealer is participating in this game, he or she deals two cards to himself/herself. In the game of blackjack, the face cards (kings, queens, jacks) are equivalent to 10. The ace counts as an 11 or one. All of the other cards keep their face value.

The dealt cards could be a potential win. If the dealer dealt you an ace (eleven) and a ten, then you have automatically won. If this is not the case, then the player can choose to take either a hit or a stand. A hit, signified once the player scrapes the table with his cards, means to draw another card. A stand signifies that the player does not want any more cards. If for some reason the player “hits and busts” or in other words: goes over 21, they lose.

Throughout the game, the player can double down. When doubling down, the player places a bet on their first two cards and draws another card. This improves the status of their hand. The player can also split pairs. When the first two cards are dealt, they may split them into two separate hands. Over time, you will learn when to do this and how to do it correctly, which will in turn lead to your success. Keep these rules in mind though: it is best to not hit when the dealer has a chance of busting, it is best to hit when you have no chance of busting, and it is best to use to your advantage every double down/split situation.

Baccarat

In the game of Baccarat, two hands are dealt. One hand is specifically for the player, the other is for the banker. You can bet on either one. If the hand that you bet on wins, you can receive a one-to-one payoff. In this game, you can also bet that the hands will tie, though this is usually not recommended. As the game starts, each hand will receive two cards. The hand that is closest to nine wins. Face cards (kings, queens, jacks) count as zero. The ace counts as a one. All of the other cards count for their face value. Unlike blackjack, in the game of baccarat, the hands do not bust since the first digit of the two-digit numbers are dropped. In simpler terms, if a five and a seven are drawn, they would total twelve in the game of black jack, but the first digit is dropped, and it only counts for two.

If the first two cards that you receive total either eight or nine, your hand is considered to be a natural. This grants you with an automatic win. A tie can occur if more than one player has equal value.

Poker

The game of poker begins once each player places their token bet. This will guarantee that someone will win something on each hand. Once this has taken place, the dealer deals the cards face down on the table starting first with the player on the left. The dealer, if participating in the game, deals to himself/herself last. Each player can check his or her cards until the first player places their bet. Once the bet is open, you can either “see” another player, “raise” the bet, or “fold”. By “seeing” another player, you are matching their bet. By “raising” you are increasing the previous bet. By “folding” you cut your losses (usually done if the person thinks their hand is too weak to compete.)

After this is finished, you may get rid of up to three unwanted cards and receive up to three new ones from the deck. Everything remains face down in the drawing process so that no one sees your cards. After every player draws, the betting process begins again. Some players may knock themselves out of the game by folding. The remaining players can turn their cards over and compare their hand within the circle.
