When you have a baby, its fun and polite to send announcements to your friends and relatives on the birth of the new arrival. In your announcements, you’ll want to include the name and gender of the baby, of course, and the date of the arrival, but you can include whatever other information you like, such as where the baby was born, or the names of the parents.
Announcements can be sent by e-mail, mail or hand delivered to those who live nearby. E-mailed announcements are usually the least expensive option, but some of your friends or relatives may not have an Internet connection in their home. It can also be nice to have physical cards that your relatives can keep, and that you can put in your baby’s journal.
Custom printed announcements are very popular, or you can get cards that simply say something like “It’s a girl!” that leave blank space for you to write in. Custom printed announcements are usually more expensive than cards that require you to write in the details, but they do save you time, and time is something that any couple with a new baby doesn’t have enough of.
Some baby announcements include a photo of your baby. These are great because you can show your baby off, and let all your friends and relatives see how cute your baby is. These announcements can be themed as well, made to look like your baby is at the beach, an angel, part of a flower, on a motorcycle or on a golf cart. The possibilities are endless! Use your own creativity, and consider what you want the announcement to say about your baby and your family. If you don’t find any announcements you like, you can have them custom made, designing them yourself and getting them printed as cards by a company that does custom announcements. This option will, however, take more of your precious time than the alternative, not to mention that it is often a bit more expensive.
If you prefer the lower price of baby announcements with separate pictures, and don’t want to take the trouble of having the announcement company’s photographer take your baby’s picture for you, you can always simply include a copy of a photo of your baby with the announcement. Regular announcements are usually in soft pastels, but if you want something different, you can find baby announcements in about any form if you look for them. Sports themes, holiday themes, religious themes, and announcements made especially for twins are all available, and if none of those sound interesting to you, there’s more.
One creative and fun way to announce the birth of your baby is by sending a candy bar with a personalized wrapper to proclaim the new arrival. If you prefer to stick with tradition, this method of announcing your baby is probably not for you. But if you have a flair for the unique and want to do something different, this is an option you might consider. Besides, everybody loves chocolate.
Whatever type of announcements you prefer, let it reflect the uniqueness of your family and how much your baby means to you. Having a baby is an exciting event, and baby announcements are a way to share the excitement with those you care about.
